When I became the PTO president, my priority was to build a community within SLE that connected parents, teachers and administrators in a meaningful way. There was already a dedicated group of parents that would pitch in and make things happen. But we had bigger dreams...we dreamed of a PTO that served it's community with events and activities that created a strong neighborhood foundation for our children. We needed more people and those people had to be committed to serving and leading. We started small...each of those dedicated parents quietly encouraging other parents to come to meetings or volunteer for events.
Each year we gather together as a community to support the students and staff of Savannah Lakes Elementary. Each year the PTO asks parents to fundraise, participate, and get involved. Each of the last three Septembers, more and more parents step forward to volunteer their time and expertise. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support our PTO group gives to the students and staff at SLE. You all are amazing! None of the fantastic things we have accomplished would be possible without you.
You make these and many more events and activities happen and we are so grateful for your support! Thank you all! |
